Can law firms qualify for the measures introduced by the government ?
On April 13, 2020, The Director of the Legal Expert law firm, lawyer Armen Hakobyan, turned to the Chamber of Advocates of the RA and asked for clarification on what measures can a law firm benefit from if it’s employees are still employed but are not receiving income because of disruption to their work situation.
According to the response of the Chamber of Advocates, law firms are not eligible to benefit from the programs approved by the government aimed to neutralize the economic and social consequences of the coronavirus.
However, in the framework of the 5th event, one-time grant assistance is provided to those small businesses that have kept the number of the employees in the range of 2 to 50 people and the actual fund paid by these companies did not decrease over the period between January 1 to April 1 2020.
